This class is a specialized class designed purely to work on the walking skills with our pups! We will cover the important foundations, help you build a management system while the learning is in progress, begin proofing, and lead you to those successful walks you’ve been wanting.
Although we are an R+ facility, we can walk you through how to utilize training tools if you’re interested.
This class is NOT for highly reactive dogs, if this is your dog check out our Reactive Rover Class.
Bring plenty of treats, including a high value option.
This class is a specialized class designed to work our easily and overly excitable pups! This class is not for playing but learning to coexist with other dogs in a healthy way. We will cover the important foundations of impulse control, help you build a management system - such as clear obedience - while the learning is in progress, begin proofing + counter conditioning, and lead you to that much more peaceful life you’ve been wanting.
Rally was envisioned as a stepping-stone from basic training or the AKC Canine Good Citizen® program to the world of competition obedience or agility. It aims to bring new people into the sport of obedience, and to provide a venue for green dogs to compete who might not be ready for traditional obedience.
Rally promotes fun and enjoyment for dogs at all levels of competition.
At this point you've shown your commitment to your dog and their training, why stop now? Let's keep the ball rolling and continue to improve and perfect the skills you've learned thus far by stepping it up with further distance, bigger distractions, and longer durations. Here is where we are going to start asking a lot more from our dogs, in terms of eye contact, proper positioning, and performance. We will start to reel in how often we treat/reward each behavior and of course, we're going to add some new skills and tools to our dog handling toolbox.
This is a 6-week course that meets once a week at our Milwaukie Shop and is instructed by Trainer Harvey.
This class is for our next level handlers & pups looking to build their bond through trick training! The curriculum for this class is based off of the AKC Novice Trick dog title. We will spend the first five weeks of class learning and practicing tricks for an evaluation on week six, with the goal of each student earning the AKC Novice trick title.
Some tricks we will work on:
Balance beam
Crawl
Find it
Get your leash
Wave

Our programs
We're here to work around your schedule and where your dog is best set up for success.
In this class we’ll begin proofing our foundation behaviors we built in our Puppy/Beginner class. This is the next step in your journey to having a well-trained dog! Both you and your dog will be challenged in a way that will test just how well you've practiced all your beginner skills.
What does that look like? Using the 3 Ds of training:
Distance: can your dog hold a sit/down/place with you several feet away? Or with you out of sight?
Duration: can your dog hold a sit/down/place for several minutes without too many reminders?
Distraction: can your dog hold a sit/down/place while you throw toys across the room? Or when people come into your house?
We'll make sure that you have the right skills to continue creating a rock-solid foundation with your training.
