Vaccines

Just like sending your children to school we want to advise you that groups of dogs are often a risk for virus’ and bacteria. To do our very best for you we utilize strict cleaning policies (see more below) as well as requiring that you bring in a shot record for you dog(s) on the vet’s letterhead (sorry, we no longer accept feed store vaccinations) for admission to in person training.

Here is the list of required inoculations.  Your vet may adjust this list of shots for your particular dog’s needs and we will always accept Titers.

  • Distemper

  • Hepatitis

  • Leptospirosis

  • Parainfluenza

  • Rabies

  • Parvo virus

  • Bordetella (Kennel cough)

You may upload your vaccinations to your account or email us a copy of the your dog’s shot record ahead of the services or bring it to the first meeting. If you forget it, we will ask that you begin training at a later date when you have the record.

Fecal

In addition to vaccinations on a proper schedule we have a policy for receiving proof of a clear fecal. We require a clean fecal twice a year. This is the PNW, this means we are generally a wet climate and virus’ and bacteria love it here. These clean fecals will help you protect your pet and help us protect our entire community from the following:

  • Hookworms

  • Roundworms

  • Whipworms

  • Giardia

  • Coccidia

You may upload your vaccinations to your account or email us a copy of the your dog’s clean fecal record ahead of the services or bring it to the first meeting.

Failure to provide a clean fecal report within 1 week of your dogs first participation in our programs waives any responsibility on our behalf. If you are unable to provide this we ask that you begin training at a later date when you have the results. After this initial visit we request you repeat veterinary fecal checks regularly (especially with dogs that are active in their community and the wilderness) and update us if anything shows up.

What are we doing to help?

In addition to regularly checking that your pups playmates aren’t introducing bacteria and virus’ to our play groups and property we also have worked hard to develop a strong cleaning regiment:

  • We use our Wyziwash 2-3x a day for general clean up and immediately after every accident.

  • We pick up and bag poop as soon as we find it.

  • We bleach all bowls between each use and dump, sanitize, refill bowls and kiddie pools several times a day.

  • We ask our trainers to wash their hands between each training session to the best of their abilities.

  • We have purchased and will now use HEPA air filters at both the kennel building and facility to do our best to clean the air in our dog rooms.

  • We attempt to prevent gear swapping and sanitize toys frequently.

Our staff cares

Here at Harmony Canine Training we are paying at and above industry average. We are a small business and it cuts into our overhead but it is well worth it.

We want our trainers and staff to feel satisfied and engaged in the team. We find this insures the best work for your pups and you as handlers.

Please always feel free to tip them, send us a thank you about their work, or contact us with any concerns.

We love our trainers and we’re so excited to foster a healthy learning environment for everyone involved.
